What is MPS Socially Qualified?
MPS Socially Qualified (hereinafter to be called MPS-SQ) is a certificate that anticipates on the trend of sustainable production. Consumers want the guarantee that the flowers and plants they buy have been produced according to internationally accepted social and environmental standards. Growers may anticipate on these consumer feelings and reach the certificate MPS Socially Qualified. MPS Socially Qualified covers the following three aspects: safety, health and working conditions.

MPS Socially Qualified is based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the codes of conduct of representative local organisations and the international agreements of the ILO (International Labour Organisation). The NBB (Nederlands Bloemen Beraad) has been closely involved at the implementation of these international regulations (ICC) in MPS Socially Qualified.

MPS Socially Qualified covers requirements on national as well as international level with regard to health, safety and working conditions. Such as valid contract, workers' remuneration, the storage and handling of crop protection agents, minimum age etc.
